Pride

Inspired by Terri Brady leadership cd called “P.r.i.d.e.”

What is Pride? Pride is the opposite of humility. It’s the fear to loose face, it’s to try to look good regardless of the circumstances that might not be good. John C. Maxwell says that pride is at the root of every relationship problem.

P - Personal, a prideful person wants all the credit.
R - Right, they don’t like to be told they’re wrong.
I - I, prideful people come across as selfish (Me, myself and I).
D - Describing other people negatively. A man never discloses his own character so clearly as when he describes another's.--Jean Paul Richter
E - Ego, people who have their own set of rules. They can be late for events and think that everyone will wait for them. Expecting credit, secretly jealous of other people's credit.

How many of us can come up with a list of 50 names of Prideful people that we know? Just that very thought means that we are prideful people ourselves. We all have pride, it’s impossible to not have any.
